ABOUT THE ROLE
I am a young girl born in 2015 who lives at home with my family and excitable little dog. I am a lively, bubbly girl who loves to dance, listen to music, swim and play. I was born with a rare genetic disorder with learning difficulties, autism and ADHD along with some medical conditions. I am looking for a Personal Assistants with a caring, patient nature to support me while understanding my needs and ways of communicating.
The people who work with me are very special to me and I love getting to know them and building a relationship. The role would be based in my home, and I would love somebody who can become part of my family and will share my silly sense of humour while caring for me. I need support for 4.5hours each day when I return home from school, supporting me with all aspects of personal and medical care including my gastro feeding regime as well as administering my medications (hours may increase to 6 hour shifts per day) You will also be required to support with my mobility, including my physiotherapy program helping me to be remain as physically able as possible. You will be required to get to know me through meetings, shadowing, and a bespoke training programme. You will receive all mandatory training and specialised training annually.
ABOUT YOU
I would ideally like someone who has experience in working with young people with learning disabilities and behaviors that may challenge. I would like someone who will spend time getting to know me at my own pace, as well as my family. Someone who can be a little bit silly and make me laugh whilst supporting me to remain happy and safe would be the perfect balance for me!
